The Rustic Olive Co. is sort of created from a love story, my love of olives, cooking and a rekindled romance. When you meet the love of your life and then lose that love, only to find each other again after 29 years, the moments and places you visited become so very dear to your heart. The Medina River in Texas Hill Country is one such place. California is the other.
When I set out on this journey to provide quality gourmet olives, oils and other condiments to my customers, I only wanted products made in the USA from Texas and California. I knew finding premium olives from California wasn’t going to be a problem, but Texas? Did Texas even have olive trees? Turns out, Texas Hill Country Olive Co. is the only certified, organic orchard in the State of Texas and were the first to win medals in competitions for their olive oils. How lucky was I?
